| TRANSIT LAW & TIR CONVENTION
Transit via Iran is governed by Foreign Cargo Passage Act, a copy of which is available in English language. In brief, this act provides for free of prior authorization flow of transit cargo through Iranian territory. All sorts of cargo so transited is liable to prior deposit of equal to one time customs duties or equivalent of " transit insurance policies" on entry into the customs house. In practice the forwarding firms fully licensed by Iranian Transport & Terminals Organization (TTO) and approved by Iranian Int'l Transport Cos. Association (ITCA) have both access to Carnet Tir facility or transit insurance polices as organized & managed jointly by ITCA with Iran Hami insurance brokers. This act also foresees heavy fine & penalty for any violation in freight forwarders declaration of transit which will be taken up by court of law on charges of smuggling and heavy monetary fines equal to three times its value & one time customs duties for any short, extra or any mis-declaration of cargo; therefore correct and precise packing list together with H.S. Code No. is a must for the shipper. |

| FORBIDDEN CARGO Transit of following goods is strictly forbidden through Iranian territory: · Spirits and non industrial & non medical alcohol, · Narcotics, · Arms and warfare materials & equipment (unless special license is issued by the armed forces, · Prints & publications contrary to Islamic holy culture. |
